What is “The Essence of Island Life?” Local artists will explore this question using a multitude of mediums at the Deer Isle Artists Association Gallery from September 25 – October 7. Visitors are invited to see how individual artists creatively engage with this question and address what they see as the crucial elements that make up our beloved island.
Showcasing their “essences” are Betsy Evans-Banks, Peggy de Wolf, Francois Gervais, Jill Kofton, Leslie Landrigan, Diane Maguire-Horton, Courtney Mooney, David Simonds, Maura Tillotson, Paul Trowbridge, Oscar Turner, Hub White, and Anne C. Williams. Appearing in the art rack will be work by Betsy Braunhut, Ron Deprez, Judith Felch, Susan Finsen, Cynthia Stroud Watson, and Paul Trowbridge.
The public is invited to a reception with the artists on Sunday, September 30, from 3:00 – 5:00 at the DIAA Gallery at 15 Main Street in Deer Isle Village. The gallery is open daily, Tuesdays through Sundays, from 10:00 – 5:00. 207-348- 2330.
