Against the Grain promises to display unexpected and unique art during its run from September 11-23. While temperatures continue to speak of summer, member artists of the DIAA Gallery in Deer Isle Village continue to affirm the summer season with unusual offerings incorporated into this post-Labor Day show.
Although the range of artists represent different genres, visitors can be assured that all have incorporated the show’s theme into their work. Displaying pieces in this show are: Marianne Alweis, Leslie Anderson, Betsy Braunhut, Ron Deprez, Alan Flowers, Leslie Goode, David Kofton, Woodley Osborne, Paul Trowbridge, Diana Turner, and Pat White. Appearing in the art rack will be Arlyss Becker, Jacqueline Davidson, Judith Felch, Susan Finsen, William Lukens, and Paul Trowbridge.
The public is warmly invited to a reception with the artists on Sunday, September 9, from 3:00 – 5:00 at the DIAA Gallery at 15 Main Street in Deer Isle Village. The gallery is open daily, Tuesdays through Sundays, from 10:00 – 5:00. 207-348- 2330.
