The Deer Isle Boat Show will showcase the island’s maritime heritage through a variety of local watercraft on display, exhibits, and boat models. It will take place on the Hagen Dock in scenic downtown Stonington.
Over a dozen classic and contemporary boats will be displayed in the water and on land. The event will highlight boats that have a significant connection to Deer Isle-Stonington, including those that have been built on the island, have spent most of their life in island waters, or are representative of a boat that is of historical importance to the island.
Come see a 1915 Sardine Carrier that has been restored and converted for yacht use, a Peter Kass lobster boat, a 1934 motorsailer, and island build peapods. Meet and speak with the boatbuilders and owners. It will be possible to board some of the larger boats for an up close look.
There will also be an indoor exhibit featuring boat models and half hulls, as well Discovery Warf which will offer a touch tank with live creatures and an interactive touch wall.
