Haystack has mounted it’s third and final exhibition of the summer season, Tom Loeser: Sun and Sizzle, which opens Saturday, August 5 and will remain on view through Saturday, September 2. A reception will take place Sunday, August 6 and a second reception – to be announced – will be held later this summer, when Tom Loeser is on the Island.
Tom Loeser designs and builds one-of-a-kind functional and dysfunctional objects that are often carved and painted and always based on the history of design and object making. This exhibition features recent works on paper that explore his diverse practice as a furniture maker — cyanotypes as well as burned images, both of which translate three dimensional objects into two dimensional imagery through the use of sunlight and extreme heat.
