The Deer Isle Artists Association will welcome its second artist in residence, Jadyn LaDeau, for the month of January. Jadyn creates oil and gouache paintings inspired by life in coastal, small town Maine. During her month in the gallery she plans to focus on finishing two or three larger works while also starting new work drawn from experiences this past summer and fall.
There will also be a display of work from her 2024 artist residency at Baxter State Park. As Baxter’s visiting artist, Jadyn stayed in the park for two weeks in September exploring and creating fungi inspired art.

Jadyn plans to be in the gallery Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays 10am-4pm. She also hopes to be in the gallery most weekends. If the open flag is flying, please stop in and say hello!

Jadyn will hold a Free Needle-Felted Painting Workshop on January 26, 2025, from 10am-12pm, in which you can create a piece of art from colorful roving and needle felting. She will also hold an artist reception at the end of her residency from 4:30pm-6:30pm on January 31, 2025.
