Will you join us to Create Your Own MUSEUM in the STREETS of Stonington?!
On Saturday, May 6 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. we will host our second annual JANE’S WALK, as part of a global and statewide festival based on the work of writer, planner, and grassroots activist Jane Jacobs on how to save and rebuild strong local communities.
Hear local history and stories from Donna Stinson, Leroy Weed, Twyla Weed, Kathleen Billings, George Stevens, and many more along this walk that will touch on some of the buildings and business Stonington has lost over the years — such as the sardine factory and Central Square — and how it has retained the ones it has — like the Harbor Cafe, Odd Fellows, and Opera House.
It’s free! It’s short! Its fun to be in conversation and swapping tales (and even photographs!) with friends and neighbors!
