Don’t wait another 60 years to view a total solar eclipse! And don’t fight the crowds further north. The eclipse is at 96% in Stonington, and we have the best viewing from the “top of our rock” at the Settlement Quarry thanks to the Town’s partners, Island Heritage Trust.
Volunteers will be available at 2:30 to help you park, full eclipse is at 3:30 and will last only a couple of minutes.
There will be a vehicle to help those who cannot walk the .25 mile to the top. This is a CARRY IN / CARRY OUT event — no seating will be provided. But ISO rated safety glasses will be! Join us at the top of our rock!
And don’t wait until Monday to start “eclipsing.” The Stonington Opera House is screening three great eclipse-themed movies this weekend, starting Friday night with Stephen King’s “Dolores Claiborne.” A classic downeast eclipse movie!
And Stonington RETAIL and RESTAURANTS are OPEN FOR BUSINESS year round!
