2026 Schedule of Events
Stonington 6
7am – Island community Center
The Stonington 6 departs from the Island Community Center parking lot. Participants will run or walk a 10k (6.2-mile) course, or a one-mile “Fun Run” is also offered.
Oasis Cafe
9am – Deer Isle sunset congregational church
The Oasis Café at the Deer Isle Sunset Congregational Church will open for coffee and muffins before the parade, and afterward, the annual favorite crab rolls, cold drinks, and cookies will be available until noon. Parade parking is available at the church.

This year’s parade theme is 250 Reasons To Celebrate, and the Grand Marshal is Manford “Dougie” Eaton.
About Manford "Dougie" Eaton
We are honored to welcome Manford “Dougie” Eaton as our Grand Marshal of this year’s 4th of July Parade.
Dougie proudly served our country in the United States Army for six years, including service during the Vietnam War. His commitment to service did not end when he returned home. For 63 years, he has been a dedicated member of the Odd Fellows and is also a proud member of the American Legion, continuing his lifelong devotion to community and country.
Over the decades, Dougie has quite literally helped rebuild our town. In the 1970s, he played a key role in restoring the Opera House and the former Odd Fellows building — landmarks that remain important parts of our community today.
Family has always been at the heart of Dougie’s life. He and his wife, Helen, have a daughter, Tracy.
Recently, Dougie faced a new challenge as a double amputee. True to form, he has turned adversity into service. He now dedicates his time to fixing and repairing motorized wheelchairs, helping others regain mobility and independence.
Dougie embodies resilience, generosity, and unwavering community spirit. We are proud to celebrate his life of service as our Grand Marshal.
Masonic Lodge Lobster Dinner
12pm – Masonic Hall
After the parade, enjoy a lobster dinner hosted by the Masonic Hall on Sunset Road.
Food & Entertainment
5pm – stonington fish pier
Enjoy live music from 3 Mile Line and a talent show at 6:30 pm. Dining includes crab and lobster rolls, fried clams, hot dogs, pizza, Wing Dingah, Waffle ME, Lucy Q’s, Gott Lunch, ice cream, strawberry shortcake, a bake sale to benefit the 9th-grade class, and more!
Fireworks
9:15pm – stonington harbor
Once the sun goes down, enjoy the spectacular firework show over Stonington Harbor & Pier.
Given the significant increase in the cost of fireworks, the 4th of July Committee finds it necessary to launch a fundraising campaign. We humbly ask you for a contribution.
